Eco-tourism initiatives: There are several eco-tourism initiatives in Abruzzo that promote sustainable tourism practices. For example, the "Greenways" project has created a network of hiking and biking trails that connect several of the region's national parks, providing visitors with a low-impact way to explore the area.
Overall, Abruzzo's commitment to preserving its natural beauty, culinary traditions, and cultural heritage, combined with its eco-tourism initiatives, make it a great destination for sustainable tourism.
Are there restaurants nearby the B&B?
Within walking distance there is a trattoria, a pizzeria, a restaurant and a bar. By car or bicycle, you have several restaurants within easy reach.
Is it relatively cheap in Abruzzo?
The cost of living in Abruzzo is generally lower than in other regions of Italy. This means that everything from housing to food and transportation is less expensive. It is an undisputed historical fact that Abruzzo was indeed one of Italy's poorest regions in the past; cut off by its mountains, controlled by the Kingdom of the 2 Sicilies, its residents' “poverty” resulting in multiple diasporas of hard-working Abruzzesi to Switzerland, Scotland, Canada, the US and Australia, to mention a few. Abruzzo is less well-known as a tourist destination than other parts of Italy, so prices for hotels, restaurants, and attractions tend to be lower. Overall, Abruzzo is a beautiful and affordable destination in Italy that offers a unique and authentic experience for travelers. Abruzzo is still very much an undiscovered gem.
